July Events:

If you don’t know – Southern New Mexico has, and is experiencing devastating loss of property as a result of serious fires, and now that it’s raining, severe flooding. Many homes and businesses were lost to fires, resulting in two deaths. The floods have caused additional damage.

Desert Threads and others are gathering together to make quilts for those affected in Ruidoso and Mescalero. So many are in need of the basic necessities. The community support has been overwhelming but the need will continue far into the future as the economic and physical demands of rebuilding continue. The quilts will provide warmth as fall and winter creep in and a little hug from everyone involved to those in need.

Classes this month include, Jelly Roll Rug, Bowl Cozies, and an additional Rope Bowl project. Christmas is right around the corner so we’re concentrating on gift projects. There are pre-class requirements so call early to get supply lists and instructions. Call 575-430-0996 to register.

Changes

Change can be daunting – change can be a good thing – change can be scary.

Yup it’s all these things but it is inevitable and the way you embrace it makes all the difference in the world. My blog is changing (I’m actually going to make posting a weekly, if not more, thing). My business is changing (Pins and Needles – the quilt shop – is moving and I opted to keep the classroom here and dose of the things I’ve been wanting to do – expand a little and explore some options. The quilt shop and my classroom will always be connected just not in the same facility. I am changing – getting older and thinking that if I don’t do it now it won’t happen soooooo. we shall see. Every day is a gift and it’s a shame to waste it.

So, if you read this, I hope you will continue and join me on my journey of change.
