International Quilt Show – Houston

Don’t know how to describe IQA show in Houston.  Can’t wait to attend each year, not only to catch with friends and shop – there is plenty of that – but to be energized, and yes, sometimes disappointed, with the huge number of quilts on display.  Imagine the millions of stitches and hours of work on display.  It’s like visiting the largest art gallery in the world.  Some you like and some you don’t, some speak to you and some don’t.  The doll exhibit was so much fun.  I don’t know that I would have the patience to work with these little people but I am so glad there are those that do.

The Gypsy Challenge was especially colorful and entertaining.  Those little tiny fingers would drive me nuts but the artists have them posed just so and I admire the work.

Although the reason behind the quilt design wasn’t a particularly happy one I, for one, enjoy her quilt.

More later – another side of festival is sharing meals with friends and we are off to breakfast with my crazy friend Claudia Pfeil and her son Julian….
